If you're keen to spend a little more money on your gun, there are some nice alternatives under $150. First is the Tippmann Triumph XT. It is has rubberized grips, an expansion chamber and is highly balanced. It is lighter than the alternative Tippmanns and has a similar internals as the Custom 98. But, it has plastic construction and an advanced disassembly.

Second, the Armotech Mars LT is a light-weight, nice gun for beginners. The Mars LT does no longer require any upgrades. It is easy to blank and maintain. But, while you're going up against a high end mechanical or electronic gun, the Mars LT will have some stiff opposition.

Third is the Avalon GT Commando 3. The Commando 3 seems sharp, shoots accurately, cost-efficient and is built well. The regulator on this model can be temperamental. It may additionally leak CO2 and requires new o-rings often.

Fourth, the Mokal Fokus VX 2k3 is balanced, has a fair barrel, nice internals and nice grips. It is also easy to maintain and blank. It may be a little powerful on the CO2 and require o-ring replacement. But overall, a fair buy.
