A man will remain behind bars over the alleged carjacking of a luxury vehicle during a test drive in Sydney’s south last month.
Jason Tuiono, 29, is accused of producing a gun during a test drive of the 2015 Mercedes in Connells Point in May, police say.
He allegedly demanded the passenger’s mobile phone and sped off in the vehicle, which was listed for sale for $120,888.
The car was later found in an underground car park at Merrylands.
On Friday, NSW Police revealed a home at Croydon Park had been searched in relation to the investigation and a man charged.
Tuiono didn’t apply for bail and it was formally refused during his first mention at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
His matter is next scheduled for Sutherland Local Court on June 12.
He is charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault with intent to take a motor vehicle, and driving while disqualified.
